Lantern and the SKYCITY NZ Breakers
At Lantern we believe in walking the talk. So we get behind the community through a number of important initiatives. Key among these is our support of the SKYCITY NZ Breakers – the only New Zealand basketball team in the Australian National Basketball League and winners of the 2011 season.
Lantern is thrilled to be a club sponsor, exclusive general insurance sponsor, and the player sponsor of forward Mika Vukona.
Breakers tame the Wildcats
The NZ Breakers beat the Perth Wildcats 83 – 77 on Lantern Game Night at North Shore Events Centre on Thurs 2 February in the match of the season so far.
Lantern was there in force for the Breakers’ fifth-straight victory – an Awesome night was had by all.
Lantern player Mika Vukona
Lantern is proud to sponsor player Mika Vukona, a vital defender who also scoops the rebound with ease. Magic to watch on the court, Mika’s athleticism and dexterity can better much bigger opponents and he played a major part in helping the team secure the Championship in 2011.
As well as being an amazing player Mika’s also an amazing guy and Lantern couldn’t hope for a better ambassador both on and off the court. We’re looking forward to watching our guy play hard in the final this year!
2012 season
Thanks to their win on Lantern Game Night the SKYCITY NZ Breakers are still blazing their way through the 2012 season and in good shape for a home final.
